Annie Besant (1847 – 1933) was a British women’s rights activist, writer, orator, educationist, and theosophist. She is recognised as a champion of human freedom and was a outstanding author with more than 300 books and pamphlets to her credit.
Annie Besant had utmost respect and admiration for Muhammad, The Prophet of Islam and his teachings. She writes in her book ‘Beauties of Islam‘:
“It is impossible, for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia who knows how he taught and how he lived to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme.
And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to you, yet I re-read them as a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for the mighty Arabian leader.”
